Battlefield 3 Assault Class Overview
The most common and familiar class to any FPS: the standard assault rifle-weilding run-and-gun class which dominates in short to mid-range combat. The special ability of this class is the health pack. You throw this on the ground to help heal your teammates.
Many gamers have a trouble with this class as sniping classes are very popular in this game. With the help of our guide, you should not have any problem.
Battlefield 3 Assault Guide - Leveling Tricks
Using your health pack can be one of the best way to level up. If you don't know how to use the health pack, you can access it by hitting the left arrow key on the numpad of your controller.
Players who need health have a "+" sign over their head. This makes it convenient to know where to place your pack.
You get 20 points every half second or so whenever a "friendly" player heals from your health pack. This way, you can easily get a few hundred points from a single pack, which we believe is worth the same as for several kills - at a push of the button lol.
Battlefield 3 Assault Class Guide - Strategies
Assault class is effective in close-combat and in short-range as well. Both the cases work very well, although it totally depends on how you play the class and the guns you equip.
AK74-M or M16 - are the most likely guns you are going to be using in your early leveling. These weapons deal a fair amount of damage at short and mid range. Just that, you shouldn't depend on these weapons a lot.
For short-ranged combat, there's a disadvantage with these gun. It takes a lot of time to aim and shoot. And by the time you shoot, you're probably dead already.
There are a couple of ways of getting your way around this.
Strafing - you move side-to-side, not zoomed in, and keeping your enemy centered. This is the recommended method in Battlefield 3 Assault Class guide.
Your character is pretty agile in its movements when you are not zoomed in. This helps you in moving side to side pretty fast this making it hard for your enemy to take you down. And if your aim is perfect, or even good, you can shoot him down in a few shots. The most exciting part of not zooming in is that the heavy kick-back from AK74-M and M16A3 don't make much of a fuss.
Then there are these pro players who can ignore this by aiming and shooting simultaneously. What they do is that they just try to get an accurate aim. They don't bother to see the target in a better light. This then allows them to get a head shot. Meaning - you're dead in 1 hit.
Mid-ranged combat
Assault class is fine for mid-ranged class. Here, what you would want to do is fire your rifle in short, controlled bursts. Maybe one to three bullets at a time. If you fire more bullets, then the kick-back from that weapon will interrupt your aim.
Something really important we'd tell here - If your enemy is at a far distance, don't bother shooting him. Otherwise there are high chances of you getting sniped.
Instead, press "back" on X-Box or "select" on PS3 or "Q" on PC. This will place an arrow above the head of your enemy and this allows your entire teammates to see them. This lets you "mark" the opponent and if any of your teammate is near that enemy, he can easily take him down. Of course, you get bonus points for this as well!
One TIP: When in a mid-ranged combat, make sure to throw your health pack down if you're passing through a choke point in a game mode like rush.
Battlefield 3 Assault Class Guide Conclusion
By strafing close-enemies, shooting down enemies which are at a mid-ranged combat with short, controlled bursts, marking enemies which are far away and of course, throwing down your health packs to allies / friends in need, you'll level up very fast along with a lot of kill counts as well.
