If you have decided to purchase the new Battlefield 3 game, there are a number of very important aspects you need to know about, including the details about the BF3 system requirements, in case you decide to play the game on a PC.
BF3 is a very advanced and demanding game from several points of view. In a very short time, it has become practically the most powerful rival of some of the newest first person shooter games in the world. This, of course is quite a notable feat and it already shows us a glimpse of the game's general features and specifications when it comes to the complexity of its game-play options and the advanced graphical requirements that it implies.
Before venturing more deeply into the details regarding the PC version of the game and the BF3 system requirements, it is worth mentioning that Battlefield 3 was first and foremost designed for consoles such as PS3 and Xbox 360. Quickly becoming one of the most popular games played on these consoles, it has also been rapidly climbing the ladder to become one of the best sold PC games as well.
There is a crucial difference between running the game on a console and playing it on a computer, as, when it comes to PCs, the BF3 system requirements can be exceptionally demanding.
There is good news, though, because there is a considerable difference between the recommended requirements of the game and the minimum ones. In order to benefit from the full graphics textures and realistic action that the game offers, you will need a quad-core CPU, at least 1 GB graphical memory and 4 GB of RAM. Additionally, you will also need at least 10 GB of free hard disk space and a 64-bit Windows 7 OS.
While all these numbers seem to indicate that the game will only run on an extremely powerful computer, this is not entirely so.
The recommended PC requirements may seem like a lot to most people; however, the creators of Battlefield 3 have been most ingenious in designing the game, and the end result of this is that the minimum BF3 system requirements are far more manageable, as we will shortly see.
The minimum requirements for BF3 allow for a much wider variety of processors, ranging between speeds of 2.4 and 2.7 Ghz.
The video memory is also far more manageable, as you only need a minimum of 512 Mb to run the game. An additional 2 Gb of RAM memory is also required, as well as the same amount of free HDD space as noted in the recommended requirements.
The important difference here is the operating system, as the game can actually run quite well on 32 bit Windows 7 or even Vista, using DirectX 10. This is good news for all those who have yet to upgrade their PC to 64-bit operating systems.
As you can see, the minimum BF3 system requirements are actually not that demanding. The game is said to run quite nicely even without an advanced gaming computer, and many experts stated that the creators have done wonders with the programming, being able to make such a huge game work on regular PCs.
If your PC doesn't yet match the requirements for playing BF3 it is well worth upgrading it.
The game is incredibly realistic and exciting and if you also buy a good BF3 guide such as the BF3 Dominator, along with matching the minimum BF3 system requirements you will be well on the way to quickly becoming one of the top players on the leader board.
